Sanju,
This is indeed related to immigration issues, as many people have to get birth affidavits from india to usa and other places. I dont see whats wrong in using IV to discuss this courier issues.
Also, I dont know why would you link this with DC rally. I assume in good faith that people are going to show up at rally if they can, based on their circumstances.
Please do not make generic negative assumptions.
Peace.
People have started using IV forums to report any issue with customer service. Guys, grow-up, participate in IV activity rather than screwing the effort of few good people. I am sure that people who posted on this thread about DHL/UPS/FedEx are not going to show up at the DC rally. Why are you guys wasting the bandwidth and at the same time killing your time? Wish you all the luck in finding something better to do.

hi sharadara,
Try to talk to someone in spain consultate or someone who knows spain visa rules.
For example a person on h4 visa in US cannot work, so it depends on what visa type you are going to be going for in Spain and does that visa type allow you to work.
If it allows you to work, then you can do telecommute and work and make money.
So the country of residence and your visa type dictates the same.
This forum has lot of folks who work in US/Canada, but not many from spain, i would try googling for some other forums or contact the spain consulate for help.
Thanks

Hi there,
In my experience, Maryland Driver license is the easiest license to get. I moved from Ohio when I was on Student OPT. I had Ohio Driver license and I went to Maryland DMV and got license for 5 years. I am wondering why you did not get Maryland license.

You can file a DOL complaint, which could spell serious consequences for the employer. You could also file a wage claim with your state's employment development department to recover the wages you were owed.

couldnt upload the pdf. Here's what you can do.
1. Airport error. If an error on an I-94 was made by an immigration officer at the airport, upon the aliens arrival in the United States, she may go to any deferred inspection site or to any port of entry to have the document corrected. These posts are controlled by Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The alien does not have to return to the same airport where the error originated.
It is a better policy to try the nearest deferred inspection site first because these are usually more accessible than ports of entry. A list of deferred inspection sites, with hours of operation and telephone numbers, is provided on pages 5 - 8 of this RAPID Answers. A list of ports of entry is available on the website of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at www.cbp.gov. Click on Ports. The alien or her representative should always telephone ahead to make arrangements. Some CBP offices at ports of entry may be inaccessible to walk-ins.
Check with the nearest international airport to see if you can do a deferred inspection. Or else, they could point to an airport which can.

Cuba isn't the only communist nation.
The special favorable treatment to Cubans is stemming from political needs than any lobbying. US wants to oppose the last remaining communist Government in Cuba and attract its citizens to establish a democratic government there. Please do not feel jealous of these special treatments.
To get a favorable treatement for Indians, wish for a communist revolution in India too. Then most of us would get the Greencard under Asylum quota or anti-communist quota. :D

its 11 digit the alien number on ur I94 card.

Sorry for a follow-up dumb question:
Is this the I-94 number on the H1-B visa or the I-94 departure number on the card attached with the Passport?

I understand that the surrounding politico-activities are important, it was just the title of the thread "LIAR...." which drew my attention as if it was something related to IV/immigraition reforms of utmost concern. After reading the content it was not anywheres close to it.
However I appreciate the information posted.

First thing i would try is call Immigration moderators and explain the situation and ask them some notes.
Try to mixyour story with the notes and present to them.
second option:
Try to go through some threads and gain some knowledge about what they will ask and how to make it effective to listeners.
I guess there is no issues even if they try to find any information about your employer or your self. They are not investiagting on you ,all they are doing is analyze the issues of immigration system.

2 times I returned back from Intl trips, the officer kept 1 original. I am left with 1 original. I have one intl trip to make before my renewed AP arrives.
From the discussion, I think the officer will stamp the last original, make a copy and give the original back.

To Texcan...the idea of looking for another state taht will accept BSPT is a good idea. Ill explore that solution. I appreciate that.
I have already talked to a lawyer and a lot of possibilities are presented.
1. File an appeal
2. Go back to old employer...hope they'll take me back
3. HAve me work under previous employer as contract to stay with my denied petitioner.
I dont just hang around here..it pays to be informed. A thousand head is better than one. Lawyers dont know evrything...nobody knows everything. As a client, I have to know as much as I can so I can ask the right question. I plan to hire this expensive lawyer that is notably very good...hope he can find other ways. Ive been researching and reading from other sites not just this forum believe me!
I am currently licensed in Illinois. I appreciate those who take time to reply and present ideas/solutions---which means more avenues to explore leading to more ways to solve a problem. Thank you very much!

HRPRO,
I could go in person , but since I submitted it thru mail, I am not sure if they will even give it to me personally. As of right now, i am planning on waiting it out till the end of 8 weeks atleast, which will be the end of next week.
satishav,
I am from KY and currently they need to validate all the original documents, proof of address, etc before they issue this blue form, whih identifies the last date of your legal status and the DMV issues the license till that date. I already tried with copied on the original passport but the guy in the administrative office refused to issue the form.
aaren253,
Sorry about the lost passport.
rockstart,
I believe there were a lot of delays between 09 and 10, based on my research. Lately, it seems to be about 40 working days. Hopefully, my passport has the same processing timeline. As I mentioned in my post, both my checks(application fee and returm mailing fee) were cashed on 24th Jan which to me is still unclear, as my appointment date was on 24th Dec and my documents were received by the embassy on 31st Dec. I am not sure what they were upto with my passport, till 24th Jan.

You don't need to be working in the US while the AOS is pending. You just need to have the job when permanent residence is approved, or to have a job in the "same or similar occupational classification."
what should i do if at the time of actual AOS ( The day they adjudicate my case ) I am working for another company since the actual sponsoring company is closed down ?

Agree. AoS is beyond the purview of understanding for several schools...asking to apply for F1 is ludicrous at best!
I know people have attended school while in AoS... have to check on any rule or law on that.

since it was a techslaves personal proposal.. i bet he didnt think it through..;-)
from an old article: http://heather.cs.ucdavis.edu/H1BSummary.pdf?popup=false
Here is an outline of my proposal:
To be eligible to an H-1B, the employer would be required to have not have laid off Americans
in similar jobs within the last 6 months, and not employ H-1Bs in more than 15% of its technical
workforce.
An employer who wishes to hire an H-1B would be required to advertise the job on a central Dept. of
Labor (DOL) Web page for 30 days. If the employer did not hire an American during this period, the
employer would have automatic permission to hire the H-1B.
The wage paid to an H-1B would be required to be at least the national median for all workers in the
field, including those with all levels of experience.
After hiring the H-1B, the employer would update the entry in the database, stating the qualifications
of the H-1B who was hired.33
The visa would be valid for 3 years. During this time, the worker could move from employer to
employer at will, providing that each new employer goes through the 30-day ad procedure on the
DOL database.
If the worker were to stay employed in the tech field for all but 60 days during the 3-year period, the
worker would be deemed as having proved his/her value to the economy, and would automatically be
granted permanent-resident (i.e. green card) status.
If on the other hand, the worker were to become unemployed for more than 60 days, he/she would be
required to leave the country within 15 days.
