So many of the switchers are college kids. A few
months ago they had an article about how the
market share in college is really falling more toward
mac, more than ever before. Apple is getting them
young, and that will pay off in the long run. I got
my first Mac when I started college and now that
I finished, I got a new one. The new laptops have
made a huge dent in this age group, so that is what
a lot of this whole market share increase is caused by.
Harvard and Princeton have both recently reported that 50% of sales at their campus computer stores are Macs.

No issues with mine but the person at the next desk just showed me that all their iCal appointments have been moved up by one hour. I told them it would be alright; they'd finally be on time :D

My wife's an RN and has both been in a number of anesthetized surgeries and has had some herself.
Most patients do just fine - as described above. Redheads are a bit more sensitive to anesthesia (not sure why, but apparently it's true), but that isn't an issue unless your anesthesiologist is color-blind. ;)
Some people - including my wife - are prone to a bit of nausea afterwards, but it's usually short-lived and it isn't an issue with most people. One thing that helps is to pay strict attention to the fasting/drinking instructions they'll give you beforehand. That cookie might seem like nothing when you're hungry before you go in, but you'll regret it upon waking up.
Also, depending on the anesthesia and your particular reaction to it, you'll almost undoubtedly have some period - a few seconds to an hour or so - of time where you are lucid but don't have functional short-term memory... meaning you might say naughty things to your neurosurgeon but then will have no idea why he's looking at you like that later on.... ;)
I have plenty of dirty things in my mind, nd it doesn't help that my neurosurgeon is hot. I'm effed. :rolleyes:

But yes, of course iPad owner's use it for normal fun stuff...nobody codes on their iPad (cause ya cant), and I only know one person who uses it as a primary business machine...hes got one of the bluetoothe keyboard cases. LMFAO, we just tell him, "ya know, thats what we call a laptop"

I'm sure Apple will progress the Mini to C2D when they Macbook is updated. The Mini only received a minor speed bump the last time around and I bet it had more to do with keeping consistant pricing than it did with updating a product.

As I understand it the drugs they use are poisons and the job of the anestisiologist (?) is to give you just enough to nearly kill you and keep that dose constant throughout the op, so your more dead than asleep.
Probably best not to try and fight with the guy trying very hard to not-quite-kill-you!
I guess I never really fight it. I'm out in a heartbeat. I just like to see who long it takes me, which is never long.

Yes, but, the mac mini is designed as a desktop, since it needs an external monitor. Although, I'm fairly certain, that, as people posted above, this card reader was put in there for apple's video editing customers, since apple does make a nice business in that industry.

If I would leak something, I would make sure the device is clean, the camera is in focus and there is enough light.
Why are leaked images (almost) always such bad quality?

I can confirm that SATA drives run at full speed now in WindowsXP.
You got this from the update? Does this mean we no longer need to slipstream the drivers to get XP to recognize the drives at normal speed?
Having to deal with the slow drives is keeping me from installing Windows. If the update makes that easier, I might go for it. I'll probably put Windows on it's own drive and then boot off it.

robbieduncan is right-on with his explanation, you're making incorrect claims: focal lengths are independent of the size of the sensor, a 50 mm lens will be a 50 mm lens on a medium format body, a full frame analog body or an APS-C-sized dslr. What changes is the field of view, which is an angle. It is this angle which is different on the above-mentioned cameras. The reason why people write something to the effect `a 50 mm lens on a crop body is equivalent to 75~80 mm lens on a full frame body' is that we've gotten used to associating focal lengths on 35 mm bodies to FOVs. Sort of like Americans got used to measuring distances in miles rather than kilometers.

What I have claimed is that the EFFECTIVE (perceived) focal length is different, when angle is taken into effect (the size of the sensor in relation to the size of the rear element).

Your last 2 sentences actually prove my point for me. Everything in today's photography arsenal (at least in DSLR) is based on the old film standard of 35mm image recording space (or sensor size). It is you standard of measure. It has not changed with Digital. This is why we have conversion factors and have to talk of EFFECTIVE focal lengths.

I have a job, I take care of my family, I pay my bills, I'm not slicing co-eds' throats in the middle of the night, I'm not selling guns to Middle Eastern nutballs -- so at what point does the Holier-Than-Me crowd take me off its speed-dial? They say it's all about Personal Responsibility and yet when I achieve my Decent Member Of Society Merit Badge, they're still telling me how to live, and more to the point, what my wife does with her body.
