In my opinion, one of the more intriguing product announcements from Nikon today was the Coolpix 8700. If it improves significantly from the Sony, that could be a killer product. Right now, Canon is lacking a bit in the true consumer DSLR market. But then again, PMA is right around the corner. Ok, you know I love your pictures, so I played with curves and masking. Since I've been on the coast many times, I know those cliffs have a lot more detail than your photo, so I wanted to bring them out. I went for subtlety and not intensity in the color version. I don't know if it looked like this or not, but this is what I imagine it to be. Layering and adjusting curves can significantly change the "feel" of the picture to more closely emulate what you saw.
Also, I really like the BW version for dramatic feel. Michael Michael Michael.... you do such nice work... there's always a jewel in the center with a bit of tweakin... that's what I love about your work! Many possibilities with one pic! :)

People at the airports( I assume the same for checkpoints) care more about what's the date on the stamp and if you have a valid H1-B to support.
In my case, I had a company A's H1-B Visa stamping(Still valid at that time) and Company B's H1B papers.
Very rarely do they pull-over(it happened for me on a different occassion) and quiz you.
I believe when you say you are abandoning H1-B you are abandoning the petetion and not the Visa.

The applications are traditionally processed in the order in which they are received and not by Priority Date.

Hello I am in H4 in usa.
I have applied for change of status to H1b this year, but still now I haven't received the decision form USCIS.
In the mean time, my H4 status along with I-94 is getting experied by the end of this month Oct. I am not able to file H4 extension as this would overlay my probable H1b status.
Now, If I dont get any decision on my H1b and I don't file H4 extention by the end of this month, what would be status after that? Would I become Out Of Status? What should I do under this situation?
You have 2 options
1. Convert your h1 to premium processing and hopefully get it approved before
your current h4 expires
2. apply for h4 extension - and wait for your h1 application to get through
To be really conservative - its best to file for H4 extension anyway irrespective
of whether you convert your h1 to premium
Dont let your h4 expire cause you wont have any valid status - if for some reason your h1 gets denied

This is an option given to me by my lawyer - I can change job within my company to a differenct category, even though Green Card Process has to be restarted, we can port the priority date. So it is an option....

My friend works as an internal auditor within a big 4 acccounting firm. His practice is doing quite badly. As there are tons of different practices within this firm, he is thinking about transferring. But his PERM was filed for the internal audit manager position and his I-140 has alreday been approved. If he transfers to a function unrelated to internal audit within his firm (e.g. external audit, tax, fraud, etc.), would there be a problem?
Can anyone here provide some guidance or point him to the right discussion thread?

I'm also seriously planning to file on my own. Well, there is no law that stops us, but certainly needs some tips from experienced people.
Infact as per the checklist, i have all the documents except a letter from employer. That i can get anytime. my big question is are there any other documents that need to be put together (which are not in checklist)

I am planning to file my I-485 and for that I got my Birth Certificate from India and have a question related to it. The name provided for my Passport and all other documents is "Rajendra Upadhya Kumbhasi" but in my Birth Certificate they have included my father's name along with my name i.e. my Birth Certificate has "Rajendra Murlidhar Upadhya Kumbhasi". I would like to know if this could be a issue and if so will a affidavit help me resolve this issue.

As far as I know priority date can ony be transfered when the I-140 is approved. Go ahead and get both I-140 approved and use the earlier date towards the new one at the time of filing of I-485.

Her petetion is filed in May. And she travelled out of USA last month. So you need to do is to start working and get a visa stamp of H1 when you go out of the country. Can you please stop advertising on the board about your company..
