I have been current for a while too. In 3 months I will complete 10 yrs with same company and this August it will be 8 yrs since filing for GC.
I am working through my senator also as the service request procedure at USCIS is totally crap. I dont even know why its offered .

I applied online for EAD on 10/23, no finger priting notice yet was asked to wait 30 days to enquire about it. All materials sent to NSC as mentioned, my I-485 is pending at TSC. Did anyone go through the same delay?
that is how ineffecient they are, best thing you can do is, site that your h1 will expire and u dont have plans of h1 renewal and u planning to use EAD, i dont know what else could be more extreme than not having an EAD when you want to use it :)

Notarized NOC is needed from you and your wife but was never checked for my daughter when she came back from India with my mother-in-law six month back.

If you can do that. Go for it. YOu will get your GC in 6 mths after coming here on L1.

I have been following the postings on this forum. I appreciate all the hard work the core group is doing. I also appreciate the active participation by all members in answering/discussing the forum topics.
I have contributed a one time $200.00 in support and would contribute more and request every one to support in there capacity.
Every one needs PR status, but in my case, the need is more for my wife, because of the reason that she wants to pursue her medical residency here.
I sometimes wonder and sometimes I feel like going back to India, work for my present company for 1 year, come back here on a managerial/executive position on L1 along with my wife and apply for Perm in Eb1 cat...this said is all my thought!
This would enable my wife to get work permit as L1 dependent and an eventually a residency position in a good univ and a current 1-485 status.
Only thing though is my wife would need to attend interviews.
Any suggestions/feedback will help me and all other people in this situation.

In your case, there is no problem even if you join the new company BEFORE 180 days as long as your I-140 is not revoked or should there be an RFE for I-140, the original petitioner will respond to it even though you resigned already.
USCIS does not care if you join the new company before or after 180 days. AC21 rule said that the I-485 is pending for more than 180 days. As long as your I-485 is pending for more than 180 days, it doesn't matter if you worked or not for the original petitioner, you can invoke AC21. USCIS will also not look if you're working for the new employer. ALL USCIS need is an employment offer which is similar to the original LC. "Offer" means you have work AFTER getting the GC.

Folks,
How are the taxi charges from Chennia airport to the town or station ? Do the drivers charge whatever they feel like or is it controlled?
My parents are leaving back from the US and will be landing in Chennai, they are not from Chennai....so not sure if I should try to book a taxi before hand...or the charges are controlled ? Also, do they have something like pre-paid taxi ?
The flight (emirates) lands at 3 or 4 am.
Also, any recomendations for Hotels ? Ideally near the railway station.

try agoda.com. I always book through them and cheaper than yatra and makemytrip. Sometimes agoda's price is higher than yatra so you have to compare. Just choose a hotel and then compare the price with these three websites. In the last 2 years I Booked hotels in chennai through agoda at least 6 times and everytime the price was atleast 500 to 1000 rs cheaper than other websites. I am talking about 3 and 4 stars.

Yes you can.
My previous H-1B expired on 06/17 and I applied my AOS on July 2nd. After I sent the AOS, I got my H-1B approved for 3 years. My lawyer told me that they will have to send it in the future if there is an RFE.

I agree-If USCIS wanted to reject atleast we would have heard some cases by now.
Even if they have done so after July 2 we will hear soon within a week from now on atleast.
If it have happened we still will have time to refile till Aug 17.
So hopefull there shouldnt be any problem.cross the fingers so we can be safe.

As per immigration-law.com..Senate may work on CIR in March 07 and hand it over to House by APril 07....House may however sit on it for years on end...

We want to watch carefully how closely the leaders of the House and Senate will follow through the agenda. Go online and file AR11 right away, by giving out your pending case numbers you can update the address. After an hour or so, call USCIS customer service and verify whether the address has updated or not; also ask them to resend the card to your new address. You will receive a address change confirmation letter at your new address.
I went online to change address.
It didn't ask for pending case#'s anywhere.
I tried calling customerservice but I get this message that CSR work only between 8-6 Mon-Fri and is asking me to call back later though I called at 10am.

Situation: approved I-140 (EB-2), getting close to 5th year of H1B.
questions:
1. if i change employers, can I use my priority date even though my employer has not given me a copy of the filed/approved I-140? If i can, what if the old employer cancels the i-140: can I still use the PD from the approved 140?
2. if i start a new gc process with a new company, what stage of my GC should i be in so that my h1 can be extended beyond the 6th year? should the perm be filed or should the 140 be filed before the beginning of 5th year?
3. once h1 is extended beyond the 6th year for say 3 years, can I transfer my h1 to a new employer?

1. Yes , Your PD for approved 140 is your possession. You can port it in your future 485 process of GC with your future employer even if your old employer revokes it.
2. You can get three year extension to your new H1 transfer with your current approved 140 of old employer.
3. Yes, You can.
