Here is a good stat to look at, we are #52 at crunching but 58 position. Our outlook is better, but really it is just enough for keeping our spot.
Hopefully the release of GPU3 for macs, a3 bigadv and 12 cores mac pro will help.
yeah all of those will help. especially that new mac pro. but even then, unless we are more active on this forum, people won't join the team

It might just be me but I tried the Nexus S for three whole days and I found it incredibly confusing to use than my iPhone.

My impression is that Apple does not want to tell you what to watch on your iPhone. ... They don't want it to be known for pornography. ... HSDPA was mostly 1900 but 850 is also being utilized after the shutdown of the analog network...
and no, it wouldn't be any faster or slower due to the frequency in itself.

The interface is slick, but it is slow as a tortise. Maybe they are still bringing additional servers online, but I hope the speed improves...
[EDIT] Just tried it using Firefox 2.0, and the speed is MUCH faster than on Safari. Interesting...

I picked up a 16GB yesterday for $299 and after using it last night I decided I should get another one so my wife and I aren't fighting over just one :). I ran out this morning and all the 16GB are gone so I picked up a 32GB for $399. The problem now is I still have an iPad2 on order from Apple due mid-April. I'm considering canceling the iPad2 and being content with the 2 first gen iPads.
I think these are perfectly fine and I'm sure there will be another revision next year. The only thing that would have tilted the scales for me to hold out for the iPad2 is if it had a higher resolution screen. The cameras do nothing for me and the weight and thickness I don't think will make much of a difference when just using it around the house.
Is that what others who are still buying the 1st gen are thinking too?

I think what we are all seeing is that the differentiating factor between Apple and "the others" is no longer software. Windows 7 is now good enough that it can easily compete with (and in many areas, exceed) the software offering on any Mac.
Windows 7 is nice and XP is still a champ on my crappy Dell work laptop. But, to this day, I use my wife to validate such notions (not my own). She, a long time Windows user, will never go back because she just gets her stuff done on the Mac. She could care less about Apple (she rolls her eyes when I talk about the company). She uses a tenth or less of the power, but that's the point isn't it. The general user doesn't care about these specs, just about getting their **** done. with the minimum of hassle or problems.
