I'm hoping to see those OpenGL improvements significantly boost my Quake 1 fps on my MacBook.
I think you probably should have gotten a machine with a graphics card if you wanted to play 3d games.

MACBANDIT [B]I don't know how many of you have actually spent time on a dual ghz mac but they are blazing fast. I currently own and am using a dual ghz/DDR and this thing flys with everything.
I agreed with you. The new dual ghz is FAST, but the noise in the hot summer day. I can use my new Powermac as heater in the winter season. :)
This baby can heat up your room nice and warm!:) if you are looking for heater and something to compute, Apple dual is a machine to get!

I understand why people like iOS, and it is useful for a lot of things. Productivity is far behind novelty/entertainment at this time, but iOS will become far more versatile when the portable hardware ups a few leaps.

I couldn't find where to click. I am using 3.2.6.
Supposedly the organizer will open after plugging the iPad, but it doesn't happen. What am I doing wrong?

Anything beats the embarrassment that Apple has in the current iOS.
how do you mean, specifically? neither me, my gf, or my dad have ever had an opportunity to bemoan this functionality. how does it impair our ability or cause us embarrassment?

A co-worker and I called around and found three 16gb at a store. Went to get one apiece and luckily got the last two. They were reluctant to sell them to us for some reason though. :D

Pages and Number are TRASH compared to Word and Excel(especially excel)

Pages and Numbers are much easier to use, and far nicer to look at than Office. If I don't need the horsepower I prefer iWork. If I do need the horsepower I have Office 2003 running on a late 2009 mini that is Windows 7 only. Office 2003 works great with W7, and it's not all blue looking like some of the newer versions.
As usual Windows runs MS software much better than Mac OS does.

Kodak, just admit that you royally screwed up and missed the boat when the world went digital, don't try to suck money from the winners by suing them. Why not get the money from customers instead by making products that people actually want to buy.

I under stand what you are driving at, but the U.S. auto industry seems determined to "persuade" the American consumer to follow the guide-lines that THEY prescribe.
If this continues, your only recourse is to pass on buying Big Three offerings, and trust your future to off-shore manufacturers.

I would love some sort of flip/clamshell design. I've always hated the single flat slate phone design. I want a phone first not a PDA.

Powerpoint no longer spews weird error messages instead of animated my complicated and lengthy presentation, so that's a plus.
Now let's see if Word still crashes when searching for text it can't find when the document has lots of tables...

The iPhone may be the best smartphone overall, but it has a flaw when it comes to the most basic feature on a phone.
You are overstating it, just as the media had. Nobody who pays that much for a phone and values their money is going to walk around with a glass phone that is easy to break without a case. I probably should not have brought it up, but the point is that people will use cases for other reasons besides the reception. The case is required, not because of the reception, but because the phone is expensive. How someone will argue with that I don't know... I'm sure someone will figure out a way. ;) Also, the reception issue is only an issue in low-signal areas. But maybe you forgot that? idk...

It certainly isn't useless, it's designed so you can get high-quality stereo audio through it. You can't do that with a mic socket, the power in the socket for the mic can affect the sound quality, it causes a buzz. If you want high quality audio get a USB headset or a USB/FW microphone preamp. For the majority the iPhone headphones/mic or the built-in mic work just fine. Why do you need support for PC-style headsets?
Anyone doing serious recording through a 1/8 jack needs their head examined. The jack is useless in its current state. Why do I need support for 'PC style' headsets? Well for one there are a ton of new high quality headsets I could choose from and for two I could have a free USB port. The headphones that support the audio out microphone capability are either expensive as hell or not good for long periods of time.
