I don't think USCIS takes into consideration whether the MS is full time / Part time / distance learning. On the degree certificates no University mention's if the program was full time or online. Also i don't think USCIS goes by the reputation of university. As far as Accreditation is concerned please check with education evaluators they might be of help but then again I don't think USCIS looks for accredited programs. I say so because there are lot of local schools which are not accredited but have good reputations locally.
As far as career growth is concerned after MS that's a separate topic altogether..

I assume you might have gone to Rt 23 DMV, try Rt 46 in Wayne. They are more considerate. I had my DL expiring in April 07 but my H1 was Valid till Sep 07 (the DMV officer had a made a mistake in 04 by putting the wrong experation date when I went to update my DL with Motorcycle endorsement. When I pointed this out he said I still have almost 3 years so come back then:mad:) . I went to Rt 46 Wayne and the lady renewd mine till Dec 07. 90 days more than the valid dates on H1. She said she has already included the grace period which is avaliable in situations of visa renewal so I can renew my visa and get back to them in time. This shows that there is a provision for 90 day grace period.
Try Trenton if Rt 46 in Wayne fails. Best of luck.
And they say why Albert Pinto "Plassey" is an angry man?
My current H1 is expiring soon. My 3 year H1 extension is pending. I had receipt notice but NJ DMV at Wayne refused to accept that. My current License is valid only till the middle of the next month.
Any body in the same boat? What shall I do?

I think you should go to either Eatentown( Exit 105 on GSP). Before they started accepting all immigrant applications at all DMVs they used to ask every one to go there. I think you may be able to get a temporary extension for month or two.

But Gandhi ji actually did something when he was humiliated , unlike MOST IV MEMBERS" who just talk.. yes right TALK
Comparing with Gandhi ji's struggle makes no sense. When discriminated, he refused to cooperate. Refused to buy "monopolistic" foreign clothes, salt.
H1-B is noway similar to that. H1B can choose not to put up with discriminating employers, rules etc and chose not to work in an economy which is exploitative.
Once H1B stop putting up these rules, employers with think we need to do something to attract foreign talent. Till then why bother to lobby for change in EB rules.
Note: I approve of free trade but in those days it was all one-sided monopolistic trade where Indian consumers had no choice but were forced to buy British goods.

GO to Trenton DMV (theoritically every DMV), they will give you a DL till 6/20/2008. Due to these delays in H1b Extensions, NJ DMV's extending the DL another 90 days expecting that will suffice
My drivers License is expiring 01/01/2008 , My H1 expires on 03/20/2008.
So will I just get drivers license extended till that

08/20/2008: Immigration Reauthorization Bills and Senate Needs a Political Push
* There are four reauthorization legislative bills in the Congress. (1) Conrad 30 NIW bill , (2) Regional Center Pilot Investment bill (EB-5), (3) Nonministerial Religious Worker R-1 and Special Immigration bill, and (4) E-Verify Electronic Employment Authorization bill. The E-Verify reauthorization bill is very controversial adn currently facing a stong political opposition from political forces. The House passed the first three bills and forwarded to the Senate quite some time back, but as we reported on 08/02/2008, the Senate floor referred the bills to the Senate Judiciary at the last minute before the Senate left the Hill on August 2, 2008. These bills are currently presented to the Senate in two different formats: One is the format of the Senate's consent to each of these House bills separately. The other is Senator Specter's consolidated bill that put together all of these four bills into one bill. Obviously, Senator Specter's strategy must have been to tie the reauthorization bills to the controversial E-Verify Reauthorization bill. We reported that he apparently changed his mind and was pressuring the Senate Majority Leader to introduce E-Verify bill in the Senate first. Accordingly, it is unclear which strategies will work better to get these reauthorization bills passed in the Senate before they return to the election recess in early October.
* The Senate is scheduled to return to the session on September 5, 2008, Friday, and to pick up the defense appropriation billl debates. The House is not scheduled to return to the session until September 8, 2008, Monday. Procedurally, unless each of the reauthorization bills is consented by the Senate floor without amendment, they will have to go to the conference committee or the House just consent to the Senate's amendment. The problem is the House bills were referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee just before the recess and unless a sufficient political pressure is added to the Judiciary Committee Chairman Lehey, they are destined to go nowhere when it comes to the time frame. On the other hand, Senator's consolidated bill faces its own problem because of the E-Verify reauthorization proposal. Besides, even if the Senate floor quickly takes up this consolidated bill, since it is a Senate bill, it will have to be presented to the House for their consent for the Senate versions. The question is how and when all of these actions will be taken up by the leaders of the Senate. The answer appears to be obvious. The relevant immigrant communities must recharge themselves and act quickly to add pressure on the Senate leaders to take up the bills quickly as soon as they return to the session. Probably it may be too late to attach these bills to the defense appropriation bill which they will pick up on the first day of their return to the Senate.

Dear Nixtor, we should not question that when they do not have IV on their site and they do not cut us any checks. It is their site and they can architect it the way they can. Yes, the Indian Express misquoted Robinderi or may be it was a misrepresentation, we would never know but the good thing is that he has acknowledged the discrepancy. That is where it ends. Robinder has been a very highly regarded ananlyst and a commentator of indo-us relationship. We needs friends with him and not make enemies. It is a different thing that he is associated with USINPAC and we do not agree with their agenda, approach or the way they misrepresent themselves to be the representatives of Indo community in USA. We have about 2.5 million Indians in USA of which about more than half a million are stuck in this green card mess. Any organization that claims to be a representative of Indian community should have this Green Card reform as a very top priority in their agenda, but it was extremely disappointing for the people fighting for this cause when they approached some of these organizations who could provide just lip service and press releases from their chambers and project that they are on the top of the issue and working hard to get the work done. IV has filled this void for a true grass roots level organization with a huge membership base which is truely global, not just Indian and working in an extremely organzied fashion. I am sure that many of the the organizations envy the way we have built the membership base ( we are not a paid membership org) and have individuals roll up their sleeves, go to the fields across the country and work for this noble cause unlike others who are limited to doing press releases, photo opportunities and advertizing to promote them selves.
At the end, time will tell if Immigration Voice would be successful in the agenda it has enbarked on, but what ever the final result be, our efforts would be analyzed for years to come by the ethnic, minority and national groups as to how to unleash the power of the Internet to build and run a grass root level oranization. Can you imagine how it would have been if Internet were available at the time of Mahatma Gandhi? I am sure Robinder has been thinking and analyzing that and we would welcome his analysis.
Peace..!
eager2ri,
I am neither questioning any one nor asking any one to have us on their website. If any org all of a sudden starts giving us more credibility or negative publicity ( I am not referring to USINPAC here, So do not mis construe my point again) I will definitely take a moment to retrospect and see if there was a common goal. If there was a common goal indeed, why we have not worked together? I just pointed out the feelings some people on this side of aisle share. I threw them out there, while others chose not to. I just looked around and why any one is supporting now and not before. Hey, Never late than now. I, personally am more than willing to know why the American Indian Citizen community has always ignored this heavy weight issue, especially when the drums beat heavily on how to retain the culture.

According to BCIS (spoke to them yesterday), the Schedule A apps filed before retrogression will keep getting processed, because they were filed when Schedule A was current.
I take this with a pinch of salt. Can anyone who filed 140/485 last year before retrogression hit EB 2, please post your experience? Have 485s after 2003 been approved?
thanks

I filed My concurrent I-140 and I-485 in Schedule A Group-II , EB-2, Exceptional Ability in Arts and Sciences Application with USCIS recipt date of AUGUST 24, 2006 for both I-140 and I-485?
(1) My I-140 is yet not approved I had asked my attorney to do premium processing. In this new situation should I go for premium processing or hold it back as they will not process my I-485 due to un availability of numbers in Schedule A.
(2)With current retrogession in Schedule A in November visa bulletin What will happen to my I-140 and I-485 processing.
(3)If Schedule A categorey ends after 10/5/2005 as indicated in November visa bulletin what will happen to CASES like mine which were filed after that? does they get transfered to EB-2 ( or EB-3) with their filing dates, set as priority date?
(4) Does establishment of date of 10/5/2005 in NOVEMBER visa bulletin means that they will still process application that they accepted till this NOVEMBER-2006 .
Your experienced help is Gretaly appreciated in this developing situation.

I would like to send such an email to my contacts. I am sure many people can use that.
